What advice do you have for prospective MBA students?
Your MBA will be defined by the people you share it with, so invest in getting to know your classmates beyond just study groups or networking events. Take time to understand their backgrounds, their dreams, and what drives them. The relationships you build will be just as valuable as anything you learn in the classroom.
Follow what excites you, even if it leads you away from traditional career paths or doesn’t make sense on paper. And, be sure to make time for travel, spontaneous adventures, friends, and saying yes to experiences that might seem unrelated to your career goals. Two years fly by faster than you can imagine, enjoy them and embrace everything the experience has to offer.
Why did you choose Tuck for your MBA?
I chose Tuck because the community is genuinely unmatched. Throughout the admissions process, Tuckies went beyond just answering my questions, they wanted to know my story, my goals, and how they could help me get there. That curiosity and genuine investment in prospective students told me everything I needed to know about the culture.
The size and setting create a kind of connection you simply can’t replicate elsewhere. You’re surrounded by people who are intentional with their time, deeply invested in each other’s success, and quick to show up when it matters most. There’s an authenticity to the relationships that goes far beyond typical networking. Plus, getting to play ice hockey and ski with my classmates is the best added bonus.

Thinking back to the first time you visited Tuck, what was that experience like?
I was honestly shocked by how connected and present everyone was. It wasn’t just polite networking – people were genuinely warm and open, and I felt like my partner and I were already part of the community before we’d even decided! I was also struck by just how remote we really were, but in the best possible way. Being here, you’re almost forced to be 100% present, which is actually amazing. It also hit me that everyone who chooses Tuck really has to choose it – it’s not like picking a program in a big city where you might have friends or family nearby. We all came here knowing we’d need to rely on each other, and you feel that from day zero.
What does the theme “Power with Purpose” mean to you?
From my time working at Lean In, I learned about positional power – how we all have influence even when we don’t think we do. You might not be the hiring manager, but you could be the interviewer who influences a decision. I love “Power with Purpose” because it reminds us that even when we feel like we haven’t “made it” yet, we still have power, and we need to be intentional about how we use it. It’s so easy to forget how much influence we actually have. My experience at Tuck has helped me become a more purposeful leader by always being aware of that power and finding ways to use it thoughtfully and intentionally.

What advice do you have for prospective MBA students?
Be intentional, both in your decision to pursue an MBA and in how you spend your time once you’re in the program. Before applying, invest the time to reflect deeply on what you’re hoping to gain. Ask yourself: What do you want to learn? What career paths are you exploring? What connections do you want to make? That clarity will not only strengthen your application, but will also serve as a compass once you’re in the thick of the MBA experience. Once on campus, you’ll realize just how much is happening at once – from the numerous recruiting paths to the option to join a variety of clubs to the abundance of social events. You’ll have to prioritize and make real trade-offs, and that’s much easier to do if you’ve already grounded yourself in your goals. The MBA is full of opportunities, but its value doesn’t come from doing everything. It comes from being thoughtful about which things you say yes to and making space to be present and intentional about those choices.
Why did you decide to pursue an MBA?
I came from a liberal arts background and had built my early career experience in consulting, which gave me broad exposure to transformation challenges across different companies. But as I spent more time on projects, I realized I was missing the foundational business toolkit (finance, accounting, operations, etc.) that would allow me to be better equipped to drive and execute strategy across an organization.
I also knew I wanted to transition into industry, specifically into the CPG food and beverage space. I’ve always been drawn to categories that shape everyday consumer behavior and I was excited by the idea of working closer to individual products/brands as well as by owning outcomes, rather than just advising on them. The MBA felt like the right inflection point: a chance to build the hard skills I hadn’t formally developed, broaden my exposure to general management and marketing, and reposition myself for a long-term career in the CPG space.

What’s one thing that has surprised you about Tuck?
Tuck’s alumni network is often touted as a unique strength of the school. I initially assumed it was just glossy marketing, as every school praised the strength of their network. During my spring semester and summer internship, I saw firsthand just how powerful and responsive the Tuck network really is. Whether I was gathering leads for my First-Year Project, seeking career advice, or trying to navigate the chaos of professional networking during my internship, Tuck alumni consistently showed up, seemingly out of nowhere. With no pretenses, they eagerly offered their help and guidance, showing a genuine investment in my success.
Why did you choose Tuck, and how did Military Visit Day influence that decision?
What stood out to me was how easy it was to connect with the people and the surroundings. From the moment I arrived, I was able to envision calling Tuck and the Upper Valley home. I loved how beautiful the campus and surrounding area were, and I immediately saw how much fun could exist outside the classroom. Whether hiking, skiing, or just enjoying the outdoors, I knew Hanover would be an easy place to focus, reflect, and engage with my peers. Meanwhile, the conversations I had with other prospective students and current Tuckies felt real and unforced, reinforcing that this is truly a tight-knit, supportive community.
I left Military Visit Day knowing Tuck offered the environment, the people, and the experience I was looking for. It felt like the best place for me to grow personally and professionally, surrounded by world-class faculty, staff, and peers, all in a place I was excited to call home for two years.

Why did you choose Tuck for your MBA?
I was immediately excited about Tuck from the start and knew that if I were going to pursue my MBA, it had to be somewhere like this! Like many others, I was drawn to Tuck for its remote location and strong sense of community and even from the start, there was a clear, shared sense of purpose that has continued to define my experience. What also really stood out to me, and became even clearer during my first year, is how the setting is necessary to foster a uniquely engaged culture. No one ends up in Hanover by accident, and that shared intentionality really creates a culture where everyone is fully bought in for those 2 years.
I also saw this as a rare and exciting opportunity to live somewhere completely different like a place like Hanover. After years in a city, I was ready for a change and have truly loved the slower pace and tight-knit feel of Hanover (the fall here is also unbeatable!)!
What’s one thing that has surprised you about Tuck?
One of the things that surprised me most about Tuck is how naturally it brings people together and creates a shared commitment to supporting each, regardless of background or age differences. This comes through in so many ways, but one of the clearest examples for me was during recruiting. I was genuinely impressed by how invested the second-years were in helping first-years - from mentoring and conducting mock cases to simply being there when we needed support. That kind of generosity really reflects the strength of Tuck’s community and the pay-it-forward culture that defines the experience here.

Why did you choose Tuck for your MBA?
I knew pursuing an MBA was the right next step, and while any top program could open doors for me, choosing a business school wasn’t just about rankings, it was about finding a home for the next two years where I could build deep connections and get closer to become the person I have always aspired to be.
Tuck quickly stood out because no other school emphasized collaboration, purpose-driven leadership, and community the same way. The Community Consulting program immediately resonated with me as the perfect opportunity to support nonprofits and create meaningful impact beyond the classroom—I loved it so much that I spent my summer internship with the same organization. I was also drawn to Tuck’s intentional global focus, which allowed me to immerse myself in different cultures and perspectives.
Looking back, I’m incredibly grateful for my choice. At Tuck, I have followed my passions, found amazing friends, and even met my partner. From my very first conversation with a Tuck student, I felt like I belonged. That warmth, authenticity, and shared values confirmed Tuck was where I was meant to be.
What does the theme “Our Story, Our Future” mean to you?
When we were brainstorming names for this theme, I thought about what makes Tuck special. The first thing that came to mind was how unique each person is here, and how we all complement each other so well to create an amazing community. Our uniqueness comes from our stories.
Looking at my own journey, I realize I wouldn’t be here without the experiences that shaped me, the family who believed in me, the mentors who pushed me forward, and the setbacks that taught me to keep going.
"Our Story, Our Future" means that we are all here because of the paths we have taken. We carry with us the people who supported us, whether they are still in our lives or not, and the dreams we want to make happen. But it’s more than just individual stories. When we bring them together at Tuck, they become the foundation for what we want to build as future leaders. Our stories brought us here, and together they are shaping the impact we want to make in the world.
