Facilities

Tuck is a place with endless opportunities for intellectual and personal growth, thanks to its people, facilities, and setting absent of distractions. Tuck's interconnected buildings provide an integrated living and learning environment.

Achtmeyer, Raether, and Pineau-Valencienne Halls
Achtmeyer, Raether, and Pineau-Valencienne halls provide students with what is regarded as one of the best living and learning environments in the world. Facilities include residential rooms, classrooms, study rooms, conference room, library, common kitchens, laundry room, lounges, and a large common space with fireplace. A balcony overlooks the Connecticut River.

Whittemore Hall
Whittemore Hall is home to first-year students and includes furnished rooms in clusters with shared living room, kitchenette, and other amenities; a variety of shared spaces including lounges, pool table, reception area; study and conference rooms to serve the Tuck community; an exercise facility with lockers, showers, and changing rooms—open to the Tuck community. The McCormack Courtyard, facing the Connecticut River, is an attractive place to sit in the summer months.

Academic and Staff Buildings
Tuck Hall is the school’s main administrative building. It includes faculty offices and classroom spaces. It’s also home to “the deanery” where you’ll find many of Tuck’s current academic and administrative leaders—including Dean Matthew J. Slaughter. Faculty and staff offices are located in Chase, Woodbury, and Buchanan halls.

Byrne Hall
Byrne Hall is the heart of dining services at Tuck. Byrne includes a servery, Pepsico Dining Hall, and specialty coffee shop. Next to the servery the Fresh Zone features a full-service salad bar, soups, grab-and-go sandwiches, and other freshly prepared fare.

Murdough
Murdough Hall includes faculty offices, executive residence rooms, and classroom and faculty meeting spaces.

Athletic Facilities
Tuck students have the Whittemore Lacorte Gym, located in Whittemore Hall. This facility is open 24 hours a day to members of the Tuck community. Fitness enthusiasts also have access to the McKane Fitness Room in Achtmeyer Hall. Tuck students also have access to Dartmouth's athletic facilities, including the fitness center; tennis center; squash, basketball, and racquetball courts; swimming pools; dance studio; ice rink; and running tracks. Dartmouth also operates the nearby canoe club, Morton Farm riding center, and the Dartmouth Skiway—all available for Tuck student use. Some Tuck students also enjoy Dartmouth's Ivy League spectator sports.
