Application for Dartmouth’s Master of Health Administration Now Open

The MHA program, offered in partnership by the Tuck School of Business and the Geisel School of Medicine, seeks the next generation of health care leaders looking to advance their careers.

The application for the inaugural class of the Dartmouth Master of Health Administration program is now open. A collaboration between Dartmouth’s Tuck School of Business and the Geisel School of Medicine, the program will equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the complex and evolving health care landscape and prepare them for a lifetime of leadership roles in health care organizations.

“We’re looking for the next generation of leaders that will not shy away from the intricate challenges the health care landscape presents, but embrace them, and use the skills and expertise they gain from the MHA program to better the health care system for everyone,” says Katherine Milligan D’90, T’07, associate dean for Health Care Management Education.

All individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in health care management and administration are encouraged to apply. Those who will benefit from a Dartmouth MHA degree are numerous, including current health care managers or administrators who wish to advance their careers; early career health professionals who want to take on administrative roles; individuals who have completed an undergraduate degree in health care-related fields; and more.

MHA will be delivered in a hybrid format, allowing working professionals to pursue the degree without leaving their current roles. The program will encompass an array of high-quality, high-touch online courses while also providing students the opportunity to further foster community in-person with their classmates during residential periods on the Dartmouth campus. Students also have flexibility in how they earn their MHA as candidates can opt for a standard two-year track or an accelerated one-year path.

Aspiring MHA students will have four opportunities to apply to the program—three standard admissions rounds, plus an early action round. Those interested in the early action option must submit their completed application by 5 p.m. ET on October 15, 2023, and can expect a decision on November 15, 2023. Deadlines for Rounds 1, 2, and 3 are December 1, 2023; February 1, 2024; and April 1, 2024. Applicants can anticipate decisions for each respective round on January 15, March 15, and May 1, 2024. All admissions rounds are for the June 2024 start date.

Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years of professional experience and/or currently employed in the health or human services field. All applications must be submitted through the MHA application portal

In addition to completing an online application form, candidates must provide academic transcripts, three letters of recommendation, a personal statement essay, and current version of their resume. More information about application requirements can be found here.

“We could not be more excited to bring together the first of many great Dartmouth MHA classes and can’t wait to see the exceptional candidates that apply,” Milligan says.
