Self-Designed Programs

Students can apply to use a self designed program of study to satisfy TuckGO.

There are two options:

1. An approved Independent Study – travel must be completed by end of spring break of your second year
2. An approved Summer Internship

Proposals are evaluated by the directors of TuckGO programs in coordination with the Associate Dean of the MBA program and must demonstrate a level of rigor equivalent to the pre-approved options.

Your proposed Summer Internship or Independent Study must include:

• Travel to a country in which you have not lived/worked in for a period of 90 days or more before Tuck
• A minimum of five business days in-country (excluding travel days)
• Successful completion of a pre-departure cultural awareness assignment*
• Successful completion of a final reflection paper*

*Assignment guidelines will be available on Canvas once a self-designed course of study is approved

To Apply For An Independent Study

• Set up an appointment with Lisa Miller to discuss your proposal.
• Submit the proposal and signed approval form relating to the academic intent/content of the project. Once complete it must be submitted to Stacie Marshall in the MBA Program Office.
• Submit the proposal relating to the global/cultural aspects of the course of study completed through TerraDotta. Once your application has been submitted through TerraDotta the TuckGO office will evaluate it and respond within one week. If your application is accepted you will be notified by the TerraDotta system. If you have any questions please see Lisa Miller in the TuckGO office located in the Murdough-Bosworth Mezzanine level.

To Apply For A Summer Internship

• Set up an appointment with Lisa Miller to discuss your proposal.
• Submit the summer Internship application must be completed through TerraDotta. NOTE: You will need to upload a copy of your offer letter on to TerraDotta. Once your application has been submitted through TerraDotta the TuckGO office will evaluate it and respond within one week. If your application is accepted you will be notified by the TerraDotta system. If you have any questions please see Lisa Miller in the TuckGO office located in the Murdough-Bosworth Mezzanine level.
