Course Description
We will meet with VC, PE firms and entrepreneurial companies in Australia, focusing on sectors of the new economy in which Australia has a growing presence, such as green energy, high-tech, and financial services. In meetings with private-market financiers, we will discuss the companies and entrepreneurs they fund and what makes Australia a great place to build an Asia-oriented company or fund. Examples of companies we plan to visit include Igneo, a large infrastructure investment firm investing in solar and other renewable energy assets; First Australians Capital, an impact investment firm; prominent venture capital funds; and the growth equity firm Navis Capital. In addition to company visits, we will visit the Australian Graduate School of Business at the University of New South Wales in Sydney and have the opportunity for cultural immersion, including learning about Australian history and visiting the famous Sydney Opera House. You will also have the opportunity to see koalas and kangaroos.
