The Tuck Center for Private Equity and Entrepreneurship (CPEE) announced recently that Clifford K. Chiu has joined the center as a senior fellow.
With a career spanning more than 35 years on Wall Street in investment banking and private equity based in New York, Hong Kong and Tokyo, Chiu retired as a partner of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR) in 2014 and commenced a second chapter as corporate director at Finastra plc, TIBCO Software, Inc., Cambium Learning Group (Nasdaq:ABCD), Ping Identity, Inc. Infoblox, Inc. and Regulatory DataCorp, Inc. as well as a senior advisor at Vista Equity Partners and Neuberger Berman Group. With a passion and philanthropic commitment to education, in addition to his new role at Tuck, Chiu has endowed a scholarship for a student in need to participate in the Bridge Program.
I hope to share my knowledge and experience with students interested in private equity and investment banking, specifically to maximize external and internal impact. Entrepreneurship can be achieved in a corporate setting!
As a director currently at six global companies, my overriding objective is to help maximize shareholder value whether public or private. I am conscious of each company’s customers, employees and communities where they live and work. My focus has been on global sales, the go-to–market strategy and Asian market angle.
I have applied my global capital raising, strategic partnership development and leadership/mentoring experience developed at KKR to support my colleagues at Vista and at Neuberger Berman in the US and Asia.
What has most impressed me about Dartmouth and Tuck is the strong school spirit and remarkable community culture throughout the student body and alumni base which translates to lasting friendships, job recruitment, fundraising and pride.
